Transforming food safety across Africa through education, infrastructure, and policy
This project is about equipping informal market vendors with basic knowledge and skills to handle food more safely. It focuses on raising awareness, encouraging simple hygiene practices, and supporting behavior change in a way that fits the realities of the informal sector. The aim is to build confidence, reduce risks of contamination, and improve overall food safety standards in these markets.
This project takes a broader approach by combining awareness, supportive infrastructure, and engagement with authorities. It looks at how better communication, safer storage options, and stronger policies can work together to reduce cross-contamination in informal markets. The goal is to create an enabling environment where safer food handling becomes both possible and sustainable.
Everyone deserves access to safe and healthy food.
